Windows Server 2012 R2 Keyboard Not Working

I recently inherited the management of a windows 2012 server at a remote site.

Windows server 2012 r2 v6 2 with iis v8 5 9600 2. When we access the server over rdp the mouse is fully working but i cannot type any key if i access the server over the hyper v console the keyboard is working fine. The keyboard is detected but it s not excepting the input anymore. I ve exhausted every bit of me to get windows authentication to work on the server and i cannot find any help on the internet.

If you need your keyboard and mouse to work on session 0 simply use an earlier version of windows ie. Windows authentication is working on my local pc below is what i ve done so far kindly assist me understand if there s something i am missing or did wrong. When i tell windows to check for updates it acts like it is checking but it seems to say that for hours. Clearly this option might not be all that practical given you will have to reinstall your operating system.
